The
evolution of NASCAR continued in 1985. This car was converted
from a short track car to a long track example. The engine was
recently rebuilt. This is a special NASCAR spec. smallblock V8.
These powerful balanced and blueprinted engines produce 550 to
650 horsepower easily, within the rules for the year. This car
is also fitted with power steering, a race prepared rear end &
special 4-speed transmission. The mid 1980s were glory days for
NASCAR, with many speed records shattered by the likes of Bobby
Allison & Bill Elliot. The exterior showcases the
bumps and bruises of this track-driven race car. Overall in very
good condition throughout. You can gander at all of the
racing-specific features of this special car in our photos. Lexan windows Fixed Doors This is a TRUE Race Car.
This is not a street legal car. It is sold with a bill of sale,
there is NO title. NASCAR rules limited the
displacement. All engines were required to have an iron block
and be carbureted. This example is fed through a tuned Holley
4bbl. carburetor to an Edelbrock Victor Power aluminum intake
manifold. The free-flowing headers exit to the side. This is a
high compression racing engine with a lopey idle and plenty of
power, not for the faint of heart. Be sure to play our
video/sound clip of this car in a little action. This
high-strung smallblock V8 emits a montorous roar and is paired
with a built 4-speed manual transmission & heavy duty clutch. Note the substantial fuel
lines and re-inforced tubular chassis. Braided lines are fitted
on the power steering. The car runs a high capacity radiator,
electric fan, and racing duty oil cooler. The rear end is a specially
prepared Franklin Unit. There are many adjustment points to set
up the suspension on this car for the track of your choice. Note the remote oil filter
shown above, and high capacity oil cooler positioned on the
driver's side. Strap into the Butler
racing seat. The rear lexan glass
features holes for suspension adjustment. Butler racing features are
prominent. Bobby Allison's sponsers are
on display throughout this classic NASCAR racer. Bobby will always be
remembered as one of NASCARs true legends.
