We at Texas Classic Cars of Dallas are proud to represent this classic 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Roadster. This is a beautifully restored & maintained 2-owner Texas example. The exterior finish is the correct white color over all original sheetmetal. The green upholstery has been replaced with leather. Power is courtesy of the factory 2.8 Litre inline-6 cylinder engine coupled with the rare 4-speed manual transmission. Only 20% of all 280SL's were produced with this transmission according to the research I've done. This car received a comprehensive mechanical service in November of this year by Nine-Eleven Automotive in Dallas, Texas to the tune of over $6,175 (w/receipt). This is your opportunity to own a collector quality 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Roadster. The Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum is the location for many of our photos of this classic W 113 Roadster. Be sure and visit the Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas, Texas.

This Mercedes was sold new to a dentist at Park Place Mercedes in Dallas, Texas, 1969. The car was sold to the current owner approximately 22 years ago. This has always been a Texas car, never wrecked or repaired according to the owner & our inspection. The white paint was redone during the 1990s and remains in excellent condition with only some minor imperfections. The striking green upholstery has been restored in leather. The chrome retains and excellent luster throughout. These cars were all about luxury, sport, and class. They still are. This is an appreciating investment for your pocketbook & your visceral senses. This car was purchased from the 2nd owner with approximately 50,000 miles and is now at just over 80,000 miles.

The upholstery is in excellent condition, finished in leather. The dash and instruments show well throughout. The Becker Europa AM/FM radio works. Only 20% of 280SL Mercedes-Benz cars were produced with the 4-speed manual transmission. This beautiful car is one of the original 4-speed cars. Under the hood is the factory 2,788 c.c. SOHC inline-6 engine. This powerplant was serviced by Nine-Eleven Automotive in November of this year. The head gasket was replaced. The coolant hoses were replaced throughout. A tune-up was completed as well to ensure the car was mechanically sound. This is smooth running and driving Mercedes-Benz. We have receipts totaling $6,175.57 of work performed by Nine-Eleven Automotive dated November 12th, 2014.

The engine compartment is clean and in good condition throughout, indicative of the care given to this particular 280SL. The mechanical fuel injection system is by Bosch. The air conditioning system is updated and functional. The factory trim plate is in place. This is your opportunity to own a collector quality Mercedes-Benz. This car retains many factory components. With exception of the restored paint, upholstery, and mechanical maintenance, the car remains largely as it came. The trunk features the original rubber mat along with the spare tire/wheel & jacking equipment.

We are in the process of having the original removable hardtop re-painted in white. Here are a few photos while it is being worked. The headliner is original and worn, it will be left intact. The rubber is also intact. These hardtops are often referred to as pagoda-style, reseambling a Japanese Pagoda. The wheels of choice are the factory 14-inch rims fitted with nice 195/70R14 Goodyear Integrity radial tires all around. The door panels are clean and detailed, in excellent condition right & left. The door undersides are solid. The undercarriage is in great shape, indicative of the garage care & Texas climate this car has been in its entire life.
