The 1966 Lincoln Continental rode on a wheelbase that measured 4 inches larger than the previous years platform. Standard features included the automatic transmission, power seat, power steering, front disc brakes, power windows and windshield washers. The car is also optioned with air conditioning. This $500 option was checked on most Lincolns for '66. This is a solid example finished in a repaint of its original Platinum Light Blue paint, powered by its 462 cubic inch V8, and showcasing factory blue cloth interior. We hope you enjoy our presentation of this classic Lincoln.

The Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum is the fitting location for our photoshoot of this classic Lincoln Continental. Please be sure to visit the historic Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas, Texas. Open the doors to 1966. The Continental was offered as a four-door sedan, four-door convertible, or two-door hardtop version. The sedan was by far the most popular Continental sold, with 35,809 units leaving Lincoln showrooms in '66. The suicide opening rear doors is a signature feature of these slab-side Lincoln Continentals. These cars have exemplary interior space, with seating for six.

This is a striking car. The Platinum Light Blue finish is confirmed by the trim identification plate as correct for this car, along with blue interior. The body is in very good condition. The paint shows well, with minor imperfections on closer inspection. This is a good driver quality finish, however there are some chips, minor scratches, and touch-ups. The brightwork is in good condition as well. The interior features very clean two-tone cloth upholstery along with the original dash and instruments. The seat upholstery appears to be original type, previously replaced and in very good to excellent condition.

The dash has some cracking but is otherwise intact. The factory instruments and controls are also intact throughout. There are auxiliary air conditioning controls mounted under the dash, shown above. The air conditioning system is in need of service and not currently functioning. It appears to be intact throughout. There are auxiliary air conditioning controls mounted under the dash, shown above. The air conditioning system is in need of service and not currently functioning. It appears to be intact throughout. The factory AM radio is intact and working. The front and rear bumpers would display a notable redesign in '66. The turn signals would return to the bumper and the tail lights no longer wrapped around the rear fenders. These would be the first such changes in 5 model years for Lincoln.

Under hood, the 462 cubic inch V8 was factory-rated at 240 horsepower. This 4bbl. carbureted powerplant is smooth running and has more than ample power. This engine is paired with the properly functioning 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine compartment displays original sheetmetal throughout the inner fenders, core support, and firewall, in exceptional condition, as is the underbody. The engine is dressed with the factory breather assembly and valve covers. Engine accessories include optional air conditioning and standard-featured power steering. Power Front Disc brakes are also standard equipment for '66 Lincoln Continentals.

The trunk is in good condition, solid throughout and carpeted, showing soiled staining as photographed. The trunk lid is good and solid. There is a dent on it, shown above. The undercarriage is photographed above. This Lincoln is exceptionally solid underneath. The flooring and frame rails are in good condition as are the door undersides, also photographed above. The differential is stout and original, paired with the factory 3-speed automatic transmission. This old car drives down the road straight and smooth, with authority. The brakes are functional and the power steering is responsive. The wheels of choice are the original 15-inch steel wheels & beauty caps, fitted with updated 225/75R15 whitewall radial tires all around.
