This Thunderbird showcases a custom plum metallic base/clearcoat finish with a few dark blue accents. It is powered by its strong factory 390 cubic inch 4bbl. V8 rated at 315 horsepower & paired with the stout C6 automatic transmission. The interior features factory bucket seating in Ivory. This is a great car to drive and show off. It rides on the original wheels/hubcaps with updated whitewall radial tires. This '66 Thunderbird is the last of the "Jet Bird" design, photographed at the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum. The exterior showcases a professional custom paint job completed in 2003 in a dark plum base/clearcoat with dark blue metallic highlights. These are the major paint accents on this Thunderbird. The finish is base/clearcoat, polished to a mirror shine. There are some chip touch-ups and a few paint cracks concentrated on the driver side fender top, photoed above. There is also a rub mark on the passenger side under the rider's side door at the very lower part of the rocker panel. You'll see it in the slide show.Approximately $10,000 was spent in 2003 on the paint finish. The Landau vinyl top was also replaced at that time.

Open the doors to 1966. The interior features factory Ivory vinyl interior in great shape. The dash showcases the wood grain accents, part of the Landau luxury body features. This Thunderbird also features the classic tilt-away steering column with the original steering wheel. An updated AM/FM Thunderbird specific stereo has also been installed. This car features power locks and manual windows. The upholstery shows well front to back.

The dash itself is straight and clean, free of cracks. Under the hood is the Z code 4V 390 V8 engine, rated at 315 horsepower for 1966. The engine runs out strong, paired with the C6 automatic transmission. Options include power front disc brakes, air conditioning, and power steering. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm original and solid sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support. The undercarriage is in very good condition throughout. The flooring, inner fenders, quarters, and fenderwells are in excellent condition.

The vinyl top was replaced in 2003, when the custom paint was done. The chromework is in excellent condition, front to back. The '66 model Thunderbird displays the egg crate grille design. The original door identification plate is in place. According to the data, this car was ordered in Raven Black originally. The door panels are in good condition, showing some color wear on the armrests.

The door undersides are in great shape, original metal throughout. The trunk is original and solid, complete with the spare tire/wheel and jacking equipment.
