This special Riviera has been in the same family since purchased new by the original owner in McKinney, Texas. This gentleman was the editor and chief at the McKinney Gazette. He passed away in 1965 and his wife became owner of this beautiful car. She later moved with the car from McKinney, Texas to Grand Saline, Texas. When she passed away in 1991, the car went to her nephew. All during this time the Riviera was well taken care of and always garage kept. In the year 2000, her nephew decided the car needed to go to his sons. This car is a true survivor, displaying much of the original paint, interior, and #'s matching drivetrain. It is a beautiful car that drives down the road very nicely.
Today, this Riviera is proudly on display in our showroom. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is located at 1912 W. Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, Texas, 75235. As always, many of our photos were taken at the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum, located only minutes from our showroom. Be sure to visit our friends at the historic Flight Museum should you find yourself in the Dallas, Texas area.
Here is the factory original owner's manual and warranty booklet with protect-o-plate affixed. The exterior presents original Artic white paint in exceptional condition throughout. According to the previous owner, this car displays mostly original paint throughout, touched up as needed over the years. The body is also exceptionally straight and clean. This is an always dry climate car and it is reflected in its condition. The paint shows very well, with only minor imperfections, notably some tiny chips in the original finish on the front edge of the hood.
The factory interior is in excellent condition, perfect for cruising down Memory Lane. The original upholstery is in great shape front to back. These bucket seats fit perfectly with the design of the center console. Buick's have always been noted for their styling, both inside and out. The dash and instruments are in excellent condition. The radio is the original Sonomatic AM pushbutton unit.
The backseat has plenty of room for everybody and is in excellent condition. Under the hood is the original 425 cubic inch V8 rated at 465 ft-lbs of torque, hence the moniker "465 Wildcat." This was a torque figure. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm factory components throughout along with the original sheetmetal firewall, inner fenders, and core support. Recent work performed include a coolant system check, flush, and heater core replacement ( $1,000+ spent with receipts)
The original VIN plate and trim identification plate are in place and legible. This is an original Artic white with red interior '64 Riviera. The underside displays the original framework and flooring throughout, again in excellent dry climate condition. The door undersides are in excellent condition, as are the door panels themselves. The trunk is clean and detailed, original pan complete with the factory jack, and spare cover.
The chromed bumpers and trim is in very good condition throughout. The original Soft-Ray tinted windshield and side glass is intact and very clean throughout. This classic stance is added to with the factory wheels & spinner wire hubcaps. The tires are Deluxe Classic LX All-Season whitewalls sized at 205/75R15 all around.
The Riviera is a favorite of both collectors and enthusiasts. This example is a collector quality car suitable for whomever desires an honest classic Buick Riviera.
