Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this classic 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner Convertible. This car showcases an older refinish in its correct Rangoon red finish, complimenting by red vinyl interior and a power convertible top in white. This car is a great cruiser and a classic Ford design with toned-down, sleek lines and plenty of brightwork.

Ford's Galaxie displayed subtle lines and design cues during the 1960 through 1964 model years. This example showcases original gleaming brightwork throughout along with tasteful chromed skirts. The body is straight and the paint shows well with only minor imperfections.

The power-operated parchment color convertible top raises and lowers with ease. The top itself is in very good condition, previously replaced.

The interior is straight out of 1962.

The dash displays original brightwork and instruments along with the working factory AM radio.

The steering wheel displays the working horn rim and an extra loud horn. Be sure to play our video.

The red vinyl upholstery is correct and in good condition. The front seating has some seam seperation in one area and a few small tears in another.

The door panels are clean and original, complete with hardware and trim. The glass rolls up and down with ease and is in good condition throughout as well.

The door undersides are solid.

The original identification plate is in place. This decodes as a Rangoon Red / Red Vinyl Interior / Galaxie 500 Sunliner Convertible / Cruise-O-Matic Transmission / 352 V8 / 3.00 Gearing

Under the hood is the optional 352 2bbl. V8 rated at 220 horsepower and paired with Ford's 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission. This is the correct powerplant for this car, believed to be the original engine. The braking system has been updated with a latter master cylinder and brake booster squeezing power front discs. Factory power steering is also in place. Further inspection of the engine compartment will reveal original sheet metal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support.

The undercarriage  is in good condition as is the frame.

The chromed fender skirts fit the car well and are paired with vintage-look chromed 15-inch wheels wrapped in 215/75R15 whitewall radial tires.

The trunk is clean and detailed, complete with a spare wheel/tire and jacking equipment. We also have a spare set of hubcaps.
