The 1959 Cadillac line enjoyed a broad restyle. This is the epitome of 1950's Jet Age Styling. Harley Earl and his design team were aviation enthusiasts and what a great time the 1950s were in aviation. P-38 influence is evident throughout the flowing lines of the Cadillac. Fittingly, this pillarless Hardtop Coupe was photographed at the historic Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum located only minutes from Texas Classic Cars of Dallas' showroom. 

There were Six Cadillac Series in 1959. There were the 6400 and 6900 Eldorados, the Sixty-Special Fleetwood, 6700 Fleetwood 75, 6300 Deville, and this, the 6200 or Series 62. There were 142,272 Cadillacs built in 1959. Of these, only 21,947 Series 62 Hardtop Coupes were produced. 1959 Cadillacs were now standard equipped with the Hydra-Matic transmission, power steering, and power brakes.

The unmistakable fins and original brightwork is in beautiful condition. Note the classic twin-bullet tail light assemblies. 

The 1959 Cadillacs enjoyed this magnificent grille assembly and a decorative tail panel assembly.  

At 54.8 inches, the Hradtop Coupe stood 3-inches lower than the previous year. 

This Cadillac is truly a survor in amazing condition. Open the door to 1959 and enjoy this feast for the eyes. 

The interior showcases beautiful factory components. This car is an excellent reference for Cadillac enthusiasts to note correct components and would make a magnificent coffee table book. 

 

The upholstery is original and shows as new. Seldom used and properly cared for, this optional black & white interior is near perfect. It is simply amazing how nice this car really is. Be sure to look very closely at our photographs and play our video/sound clip of this Hardtop Coupe in action.

The dash is beautifully detailed, displaying original components and chrome work throughout. 

This is a non-smoker vehicle, a feat itself for a 52-year old Cadillac. 

The optional Wonderbar radio works great.

This stately stance is thanks to the original wheels & hubcaps wrapped in the original vintage Firestone Wide Whitwall tires.

The engine compartment showcases the same delightful original detail of the rest of this Cadillac. 1959 was a banner year for Cadillac in style and power. The cubic inches were increased to 390 c.i. Horsepower was now up from 310 to 325 horsepower and compression was at 10.5 to 1. This unrestored engine runs very smooth. The block casting # reads 1469230. The engine accessories and hardware is in excellent condition. Be sure to look closely at our detailed photos and note the original components. The firewall, inner fenders, and core support are all unrestored and excellent.

 

The original identification plate is in place.

 

The undercarriage is also remarkable and original. The red oxide coating on the floorboards is original and intact. This car has been in dry climate conditions from day one and it shows. Cadillac utilized this X-pattern frame for rigid construction and a low center of gravity for better handling and aerodynamics.

 

The original tinted glass is intact and excellent throughout this Cadillac.

 

The trunk displays its original matting, spare, decal, and jacking equipment. This is truly a time capsule.

 The original door panels are beautifully detailed and clad in factory brightwork and materials. The door undersides are solid.

 

The headliner and sunvisors are excellent and original.

 

The body displays all original body panels throughout. The paint has been extremely well-cared for and it shows.
