Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to showcase this professionally restored '55 Chevy. This car has had hundreds of hours invested in its complete restoration. The paint and body are outstanding as are the mechanicals. Approximately 2,000 miles have been logged since the build. Power comes in the form of a built vintage 327 4bbl. V8 producing approximately 375 horsepower. This smallblock mill is paired with a vintage Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. This Vintage Shoebox Chevy Street Rod / Hot Rod was photographed at the Dallas Love Field Flight Museum. There is a lot of American steel and horsepower on display here. The way this '55 Chevy is setup, it would make a perfect car for the Hot Rod Power Tour. This car is easy to drive, responsive, and should be reliable for the long haul. The stance is perfect thanks to dropped spindles, updated disc brakes, and these American Racing Special Edition Wheels fitted with Dunlop 245/50ZR17 high performance rubber all around.
The paint and body are just outstanding. The real flames on the fenders and hand pinstriping is a nice touch. The grill was replaced along with the headlight bezels and front blinker assemblies. The bumpers have been re-chromed. All of the stainless has been polished. LED Tail lamps have been installed. The engine compartment is highly detailed. This vintage 327 mill prefers premium unleaded fuel and employs a mild performance cam along with desirable vintage double hump cylinder heads. Induction duties are handles via an Edelbrock carburetor atop a polished Edelbrock EPS intake. The exhaust system consists of full length ceramic-coated headers breathing through full ceramic exhaust pipes & mufflers.
The firewall, inner fenders, and core support sheetmetal shows well throughout. The cooling system is completely updated with a high capacity aluminum radiator, electric fan and billet overflow tank. The alternator is chromed. An updated air conditioning system has been installed as well. The windshield wiper motor has been replaced too. The original trim identification plate is in place. The steering system was replaced with a power rack & pinion setup. Over the course of the restoration, the interior was stripped to bare and sound-proofing was installed throughout. The upholstery is custom done, featuring a contoured bench seat around the HURST 4-speed shifter. An updated '55 Chevy Classic Instrument gauge cluster was installed along with updated rack & pinion steering underneath the Ididit tilt steering column. The sound system consists of a Pioneer Super Tuner 3D along with a power sub woofer and upgraded speakers.
The upholstery and dash are in excellent condition. This is a quality built '55 Chevrolet. The trunk has also been restored out and upholstered. The undercarriage displays further restoration efforts. The suspension has been rebuilt front to back. The fuel tank has been replaced. The engine and transmission were rebuilt along with the differential. This is a solid undercarriage. Front disc brakes have been installed. A rear sway bar has been installed along with a high capacity oil pan. The exhaust system is ceramic-coated from the headers to the pipes all the way back. The mufflers of choice are polished MagnaFlows, left and right. Check out the ceramic-coated exhaust system. This '55 sounds excellent.
