Texas Classic Cars Of Dallas is proud to showcase this beautiful representation of a 1953 C1 Corvette, The first generation of Corvette was introduced late in the 1953 model year. Originally designed as a show car for the 1953 Motorama display at the New York Auto Show, it generated enough interest to induce GM to make a production version to sell to the public. First production was on June 30, 1953. This generation was often referred to as the "solid-axle" models (the independent rear suspension was not introduced until the second generation). 300 hand-built polo white Corvette convertibles were produced for the 1953 model year. To own an original in a condition as good as this one is, would run you upwards of the $500,000 , but today you can own one that looks just as good but runs and handles way better for a fraction of the price. This Replica was hand built by Sports Car Classics of Hollywood Florida in 1988, and features all original body panels and an upgraded performance suspension from a Chevy Camaro including Front Disc Brakes and Power Steering which gives it the characteristics of unmatchable modern-day handling and reliability. It is Equipped with a Chevy 350 V8, pushing 300hp, that breathes though 2x4 Barrel Carburetors. Mated to this 350 is a reliable , smooth shifting, TH350 3-Speed automatic transmission. On the inside we have two comfortable bucket seats, with seat belts, and new carpet that as you can see in pictures , still has the protective plastic over it. Mounted to the dash are aftermarket VDO Gauges and a flush looking painted dash. Comparing the original to this replica , the original came with an inline-six cylinder 150 bhp engine and a suspension and steering that was manual, not a very comfortable ride. Only a handful of the C1 Corvettes were built and they all came in polo white with red interior. Take a good look at this iconic car that started it all and imagine yourself driving down a country road, don't miss out on having a great American classic.

One of the few flaws we see are some of the chrome peeling on 2 pieces around the seat backs. These are easily removed and can be rechromed.  One other little flaw under the passenger door.
