This antique '47 Chevrolet truck was initially updated & restored in 1984. A Chevrolet 350 4bbl. V8 & 3-speed automatic transmission was installed along with updated power brakes, power steering, and a tilt steering column. The interior was updated with vinyl/cloth upholstery and a neat overhead compartment with an AM/FM cassette stereo & clock. The body is straight and the silver base/clearcoat paint needs some work in areas. The chrome shows well throughout. This is a truck that can be driven on todays roads in comfort.  Chevrolet's Advanced Design series pickup trucks made their debut in 1947, the first post war production year. GM would be the first to debut their post-war light-duty truck design. These trucks were extensively re-designed and the cabs were configured for more room, comfort and vision.

The Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum is the location for many of our photos. Be sure to visit our friends at the Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas, Texas. The new cab for '47 would be eight inches wider & seven inches longer than the previous generation GM trucks. The windshield was also larger as was the side glass to increase vision. The interior of this truck features a vinyl & cloth bench seat along with the factory gauge cluster and functional gauges. A '80s GM tilt steering column & steering wheel have also been installed.

There is a chromed radio delete plate on the dash and a special overhead compartment that houses the AM/FM stereo along with a compass and temperature gauge. The doors are in great shape as are the door undersides. Under the hood is the Chevrolet 350 cubic inch V8. This powerplant runs out strong, paired with the 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine compartment also features power-assist brakes & power steering along with later air conditioning (134a). The firewall, inner fenders and core support display the original sheetmetal throughout. The wood bed and strips are in good condition as is the inner bed sheetmetal and rear of the cab.

The paint has some chips, scratches and flaws throughout. There are a couple of primer areas. The body is very solid all around. The tailgate is chipped along the top edges. The exhaust exits just in front of the rear tires. Again note the paint chips and scratches. The glass is in good condition throughout. The undercarriage is solid throughout. The cab underbody and bed underside are in good condition as is the rear end and suspension. A spare tire/wheel is mounted under the bed. The front end features power-assist brakes.
